Managing Assets & Rooms
The PlantQuest admin portal allows you to keep your assets up to date. Users with the appropriate access levels can Add, Update or Archive any asset within the system.
To add, update, or archive an asset, access the Assets tab within the PlantQuest Admin Portal. This can be accessed by selecting Admin in the bottom-left corner of the PlantQuest OneView interface.
As outlined under "Accessing 360 Environments" in Section 3.1, PlantQuest allows users to switch between interactive 2D map views and immersive 360 environments. When adding or updating assets, users begin by positioning the asset on the 2D map. Where greater positional accuracy is required, the user can then switch to the 360 environment to refine and confirm the asset’s location, provided 3D data is available for that position.
Adding an Asset
Navigate to Admin Portal → Assets → Add Asset.
Use the filters (Building, Level, and Room No.) to locate the room where the asset will be placed.
Drag the asset pin to the asset’s location within the selected room on the 2D map.
If 3D data is available for this location, a yellow 360 icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen will appear. Selecting this icon to switch from the 2D map to the 360 environment.
In the 360 environment, navigate to the assets position, right-click and select Position Asset. This will assign the asset to the exact XYZ coordinates within the 3D environment, and update its corresponding XY position on the 2D map.
Once Position Asset is selected, the 360 environment will close automatically.
In the panel on the right-hand side of the screen, enter the asset’s metadata.
Complete the change control process and select Save.
Note: Rooms cannot be added—only updated (see below).
