Offline Mode & Sync
The PlantQuest tablet applications are designed to operate effectively in environments with limited or no internet connectivity. When offline, users retain full access to asset search, navigation, routes, and wayfinding, ensuring uninterrupted use across all areas of the facility.
When an internet connection is available, the application automatically synchronises with the web platform at 30-second intervals. This ensures that the latest asset data, routes, and wayfinding updates are consistently captured on the device.
If a synchronisation attempt fails due to a loss of connectivity, the application will automatically retry the sync process. During synchronisation, a loading bar will appear at the top of the application to indicate that data is being refreshed.
If all synchronisation attempts fail and the application is no longer up to date, a persistent red status bar will appear along the top of the application. This indicates that the device is currently offline and unable to synchronise with the web platform.
Once the tablet reconnects to the internet, synchronisation will automatically resume and the application will update to the latest available data without any user intervention.
