4.1 - Managing Assets & Rooms

The PlantQuest admin portal allows you to keep your assets up to date. Users with the appropriate access levels can Add, Update or Archive any asset within the system.

To add, update, or archive an asset, access the "Assets" Tab within the PlantQuest Admin Portal. Navigate there by selecting "Admin" in the bottom left corner of PlantQuest OneView.

Adding an Asset

Admin Portal → Assets → Add Asset.

  • Use the filters (Building, Level, and Room No.) to locate the exact room where the asset will be placed.

  • Drag the asset pin to its precise location within the room.

  • On the right side of the screen, enter the asset’s metadata.

  • Complete the change control process, then click Save.

Note: Rooms cannot be added—only updated (see below).

Updating an Asset

  • Admin Portal → Assets.

  • Use the search box or filters to find the asset.

    Select the asset and update:

    • Location: Drag the asset pin on the map.

    • Metadata: Modify details as needed.

  • Complete the change control process, then click Save.

Updating a Room

  • Admin Portal → Assets.

  • Use the search box or filters to find the room.

  • Select the room and update its metadata.

  • Complete the change control process, then click Save.

Archiving an Asset

  • Admin Portal → Assets.

  • Use the search box or filters to locate the asset.

  • Select the asset, scroll to the bottom of the metadata, and click "Archive".

Pro Tip: Keep asset tags, types and systems among others consistent for easy searching and filtering.
