Searching & Navigation
How do I search for an asset or room by Tag/ID?
Enter the Tag/ID in the search bar.
Select the relevant result.
The asset or room location will be highlighted on the map.
What if my asset doesn’t appear in the search?
Ensure you entered the correct Tag/ID.
The asset also may not be registered within the system — If you have the correct user level, you will be able to add the asset within the Assets tab of the Admin portal. If you do not have access, please contact a PlantQuest admin.
How do I use filter searches?
Click the filter icon (
) in the search box.Apply predefined filter criteria (e.g., building, system type, asset type, etc).
Click Go to display results.
Click an asset in the list to locate it on the map.
Can I search for a room directly from the map?
Yes. Hover over rooms on the web or double tap on the tablet to highlight and select them. This will display the room’s details, including a list of assets that are located within the room.
How does indoor navigation work?
Search for an asset or room.
Click the navigation icon (
) next to the search result.Enter your origin. This can be any asset or room within the system.
PlantQuest will calculate the optimal route from your origin to your destination.
Follow the displayed path to your destination.
How does navigation handle multiple floors?
If your route spans multiple floors, the system will:
Guide you to stairs, an elevator, or another transition point.
Selecting the subsequent stage along the left panel and the map/route will update.
How do I exit navigation mode?
Click Exit Navigation Mode above the search box.
Alternatively, select any room on the map.
Asset & Room Information
How do I view detailed asset or room information?
Search for an asset or room.
Click the info icon (
) next to its name to open its details.View metadata, notes, photos, and integrated system information.
Map & Facility Visualisation
How do I change facility levels/maps?
The map changer on the left allows switching between levels.
If an asset is on another map, PlantQuest will automatically switch to it.
Maps containing search results will be highlighted.
What are map layers and how do I use them?
PlantQuest allows overlaying data on maps, such as:
Room attributes (e.g., ATEX areas, PPE zones).
Points of Interest (POIs) (e.g., Emergency Exits, Muster Points).
To enable layers:
Click the layers icon (
) in the top-right corner.Select an attribute or POI category.
Work Packs
What is a Work Pack?
A Work Pack is a saved collection of asset and room locations that can be used for:
Maintenance schedules
Contractor visits
Safety inspections
Etc.
How do I create a Work Pack?
Search for assets or rooms.
Click the Work Pack icon (
) in the top-right.Select assets/rooms and click Save As to create the pack.
How do I load a Work Pack?
Click the Work Pack icon (
).Select Load and choose your Work Pack.
Click Update Map to display its locations.
