3.5 - Indoor Navigation

This feature is available on both web and mobile applications.

PlantQuest provides indoor navigation to help you find the most efficient route to any asset or room within your facility. This feature is available on PlantQuest OneView for both web and tablet applications.

Activating Navigation Mode

From the Default Screen

• Click the icon in the search bar.

• Enter your origin and destination when prompted.

After Searching for an Asset or Room

• Search for an asset or room using its Tag/ID.

• Click the icon next to the asset or room in the left-hand panel.

• The selected asset or room will be set as your destination.

Viewing a Route

• After activating navigation mode, enter an Asset or Room Tag/ID as both your origin and destination.

• If any room attributes (e.g., ATEX area, PPE required) impact your route, a popup window will notify you.

• To add room attributes, please contact your Site Engineering Admin or email [email protected].

• Once acknowledged, the optimal route will be displayed.

• Icons indicate:

  • Starting point ()

  • Destination ()

• To swap your origin and destination, click the icon.

• You can change your origin or destination at any time by selecting the search box and entering a new Asset or Room Tag/ID.

Navigating Across Levels & Maps

• If your origin and destination are on different maps, this will be shown in the Stages section on the left-hand panel.

• For example, if traveling from Map 1 to Map 2, you will see:

  • Stage 1: Follow the route to the stairs, ladder, steps, or elevator.

  • Stage 2: Follow the route to your destination.

• By default, Stage 1 is selected, showing the route to the recommended transition point (stairs, elevator, etc.).

• Clicking a later stage updates the map and route, guiding you through the facility step by step.

Configuring Your Default Origin (Mobile Application Only)

• PlantQuest allows you to configure a Default Origin when in navigation mode on the mobile application. This is particularly useful when the tablet application is stored at the same location, such as an ERT Station.

• To configure a Default Origin:

  • Select on the PlantQuest icon in the top right of your screen 10 times.

  • Search for the room or asset that you would like to be your default origin

• The selected room or asset will now always be the default origin until it is removed.

• To remove the default origin:

  • Select on the PlantQuest icon in the top right of your screen 10 times.

Exiting Navigation Mode

• Click "Exit Navigation Mode" above the search box.

• Alternatively, select any room on the map to exit.
